The collaboration between Allison Transmission - the world's largest manufacturer of automatic transmissions for medium and heavy commercial vehicles, also active in electrified propulsion systems - and Dotto Trains , active in the production of tourist trains, continues. The partnership has been going on since 2012 , when the Castelfranco Veneto-based company created the automatic version of its flagship model, the Muson River 2 × 4, widely used in theme parks, tourist resorts and tourist villages around the world. Today the pairing is revived on the new born in the Dotto house, the Big Boy (in the photo).

“ We have always had a good time and the combination of FPT engines and Allisons has always been a success on our vehicles. In Allison we immediately found a reliable partner, with the possibility of having international support ”said  Sabrina Carraro, CEO of Dotto Trains

Dotto and Allison: passion, technology and low environmental impact
Many years have passed since the first train built for pure passion by Ivo Dotto in 1962. Shortly thereafter, the idea of transforming it into a means of transport that every city in the world could have became a reality. Today, the company from Castelfranco Veneto (TV), still managed by the family, is internationally established and exports tourist trains all over the world, on rails for theme parks and without for cities. Between 40 and 50 trains are produced on average each year on commission: among the latest a "super train" for Dubai, with modern lines with air conditioning and very spacious and luxurious carriages.

Today Dotto wants to aim above all at sustainable mobility, with vehicles with lower emissions for public transport with a very low environmental impact. The latest addition, Big Boy, designed for tourism on Elba and Tarquinia, is easy to use even on rough routes, with steep slopes and in historic centers, also thanks to a  powerful 116.2 kilowatt (158 hp) Fpt engine at 2,500 rpm  and 4.5 liters of displacement with 580 Nm of torque, combined with the Allison 2500 Series 5-speed automatic transmissions.
